Leather artist Penny Hall traded in her high heels and business suits for blue jeans and hikers in 1994 and has never looked back. After meeting photographer husband, Ken Hall, she moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Penny immediately immersed herself in the world of art assisting Ken with outdoor art shows and photography book projects. This love of art expanded while working in art galleries in Taos, New Mexico. Authentic Native American art kindled a spark in her Cherokee heritage and Penny began working with leather. The early pieces were in buckskin creating flute bags, pouches and packaging for her husband's photographic note cards. Then the magic of molded leather captured her imagination. Her exquisite and elegant hand molded leather bowls can be found in galleries in Montana, Colorado and New Mexico. Inspired by the beauty of Big Sky Country she and her husband live in Ennis, Montana. |
